Veeps: At the Denver Newspaper Agency, Eric Wolferman has been named vice president of information technology. Most recently a consultant with the newly formed agency (which handles the non-business functions of the Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News), Wolferman had been the senior vice president for technology at the Newspaper Association of America and before that had been a longtime editorial and technology executive with Gannett Co. Inc. Wolferman replaces Dan Persiani, who will become the agency's executive director of information technology ... At the San Jose Mercury News, David Bauer has been named vice president of technology, a new position. Most recently vice president of technology at the Miami Herald, Bauer has worked for Knight Ridder corporate as well as holding pre-press positions with the Herald. In an earlier life, Bauer was assistant managing editor of the late Miami News and systems editor of the Cincinnati Enquirer. ... At the San Francisco Chronicle, Fred dal Broi has been named vice president of production; previously, he had been production director at the Arizona Republic in Phoenix and in an earlier life, a plant manager at the Seattle Times. Dal Broi took the slot that opened up when John Dennan became the vice president of production at the St. Louis Post Dispatch; Dennan succeeded Marvin Kanne, a short-timer (42 years), who recently retired. ... Real bits: At the Honolulu Advertiser, Marty Black has been named production director. Previously, Black was the pre-press manager at the Seattle Times, had worked at the San Diego Union Tribune and is a 19-year veteran of the Washington Post. ... At Scripps' Florida Treasure Coast papers -- Naples Daily News, Stuart News, etc. -- Ed Lindoo has been named technical systems director; previously, he had been technical development manager at Fort Lauderdale's Sun-Sentinel . ... New-media mavens: At Cox Interactive Media (CIM) of Atlanta, Lem Meador has been promoted to technical director of field operations; previously, he had been network content engineering manager. Also at CIM, Tim Aligheri has been named director of systems engineering; previously, he had been a vice president at MedAssets.com. Further at CIM, Bob Larsen has been named general manager of SoFla.com, CIM's South Florida affiliate; previously, Larsen had been chief strategy officer for LocalBusiness.com. Other CIM changes include Carolyn Wheeler being named city site manager for Las Vegas (VegasValley.com); previously, she worked in corporate advertising. Lastly at CIM, Margot Sinclair Savell has been named city site manager for Seattle (SeattleInsider.com); previously, she was managing editor of Internet Broadcasting Systems of Portland, Ore. (in earlier lives, Savell was a correspondent and editor for the Canadian Press). ... At Dow Jones Consumer Electronic Publishing of New York, Neil Budde has been named chief product officer; he continues as publisher of the Wall Street Journal Online, of which he was founding editor. Also at the Online Journal, Bill Grueskin has been named managing editor; previously, Grueskin was a senior editor at the mother ship, the Wall Street Journal. Grueskin replaces Rich Jaroslovsky, who becomes a senior editor at the Journal; Jaroslovsky was the founding managing editor of the Online Journal. Lastly at Dow Jones, Todd Larson has been named general manager of Dow Jones Consumer Electronic Publishing. ... Vendor victories: At Artesia Technologies of Rockville, Md., David Lipsey has been named industry vice president for media and entertainment; Lipsey, who's been a sales executive with Artesia since 1998, previously worked for Publishing Business Systems and Data Sciences. ... At DALiM Software of Germany, Gee Ranasinha has been named director of marketing; previously, Ranasinha had been with Turning Point Technologies, a U.K. distributor of pre-press technology and with Dicomed. ... At Mactive Inc. of Melbourne, Fla., Joe Wollett has been named project manager; previously, Wollett was director of group account sales at Harris Publishing Systems. Another new face at Mactive is George Rose, who has been named an implementation specialist; previously, Rose had been a consultant for The Pennysaver of Elmsford, N.Y. Also at Mactive, Jeffery Taylor has been named an Oracle database administrator; previously, Taylor had been with MicroAge of Diamond Bar, Calif., and he will be based on the West Coast. Lastly at Mactive, Tapas Mishra has also been named an implementation specialist. ... At Managing Editor Inc. of Jenkintown, Pa., Richard Kitzmiller has been named manager of the southeastern regional territory; previously, Kitzmiller had been with Geac Publishing Systems and Unisys. ... At RealTimeImage of San Bruno, Calif., Chris Gulker has been named vice president of worldwide marketing; most recently, Gulker was vice president of marketing and sales at Montclare Technologies. In earlier lives, Gulker had been a publishing business development manager and director at Apple Computer, and before going to the dark side, was director of development at the San Francisco Examiner and a photographer at the late Los Angeles Herald Examiner. ... At Unisys Corp. of Blue Bell, Pa., Stephen Dienna has been named vice president of entertainment and media sales and delivery (formerly the company's publishing group). Previously, Dienna was a global segment executive for IBM's entertainment and media business and in earlier lives had been with Integrated Newspaper Systems International and Atex. ... At Xitron Inc. of Ann Arbor, Mich., Vince Cooper has been named eastern region dealer manager; most recently, Cooper had spent 12 years with ECRM and did time at Varityper and Xerox. ...
