Newsroom of the futureAn "international summit" on how technology is affecting the newsroom will be held March 8 in Columbia, S.C. The conference, called "Meeting Point," is co-sponsored by IFRA, the international newspaper technology group, and the University of South Carolina. Organizers say that the conference will "transplant expertise" in the arena of newsroom organization in the world of convergence. The University of South Carolina is the site of Ifra's Newsplex, a $1.5-million "micro-newsroom facility for demonstration, research and training in next-generation news-handling methods and technologies."
