Poynter pointersThe Poynter Institute of St. Petersburg, Fla., is sponsoring a five-day seminar on on-line design, to be held Oct. 4-9. The session will be limited to 12 participants and will be taught by Poynter faculty members Mario Garcia, Pegie Stark Adam and Ron Reason. Also teaching will be visiting professional Andrew DeVigal and "guest experts," among them Ty Ahmad-Taylor, the creative director of the @Home Network, and Mark Holmes, editor-in-chief of nationalgeographic.com. Instructors will demonstrate successful techniques for organizing information as well as using type, color and architecture on the World-Wide Web. The session will utilize the Poynter Macintosh laboratory and will feature full critiques of the participants' web sites. Deadline for applications is Aug. 1.
