Konica, an imaging systems supplier based in Glen Cove, N.Y., has announced the recent installation of its newspaper proofing solution at six locations serving the DETROIT NEWS and DETROIT FREE PRESS. The sale included two HP DesignJet proofers at each location, all of which are fed by a single RIP at the main production facility operated by the Detroit Newspaper Agency, which handles business and production matters for the two newspapers. Version 1.5 also provides for activating and deactivating fonts while an application is running and documents are open, as well as editing of elements in a window within a text flow without having to remove the elements from the text flow. Seventy percent said either possibly or maybe, while 10 percent said definitely not, 12 percent said probably and eight percent said definitely yes.
