    ComputerEase, a developer based in Warren, R.I., has installed software at NEWSDAY on Long Island, N.Y., that merges ads and editorial copy from different sources into full-page output in PostScript.

    ComputerEase's Adcontrol product was enhanced to merge PostScript files from such sources as PCs, Macs and Camex with text from an Atex editorial front-end.


  • DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY INTERNATIONAL
    The Reed Regional Newspaper Group of Lancashire, England, has finished installing DT's integrated publishing system to serve its 15 newspapers.

    Orem, Utah-based DT installed its integrated editorial, advertising and classified systems at Reed's offices in 16 towns in northwest England, encompassing a total of 350 Macs supported by a single Sun SPARCcenter 1000 database server.

  • HARRIS PUBLISHING SYSTEMS CORP.
    Harris has announced orders for two major pre-press systems.

    The Melbourne, Fla.-based company been selected by the GRAND RAPIDS (Mich.) PRESS to install a NewsMaker editorial system, Vantage Image Archive System and Page-Trak page management and tracking system.

    Overseas, Harris will install NewsMaker software at Edipresse Publications S.A. in Lausanne, Switzerland, on more than 300 workstations.


  • JOHN JULIANO COMPUTER SERVICES CO.
    Suburban News Publications of Columbus, Ohio, has begun production using five copies of John Juliano's Atan EXPRESS. Writers still compose copy on an Atex system, then Atan EXPRESS is used to import marked-up text into Quark XPress to produce 22 weekly community newspapers in central Ohio.
