New media mavens: At Media General of Richmond, Va., Thomas Silvestri has been named director of news synergy and news bank editor; previously he was deputy managing editor of the Richmond Times-Dispatch. In his new job, Silvestri will be responsible for developing shared content among the publishing division properties and will serve as a "news advocate" at the division level, concentrating on quality in content and synergy between all properties. ... At Digital Ink Co. of Arlington, Va., the Washington Post Co.'s digital media and electronic information services subsidiary, Eric Koefoot has been named chief financial officer and controller; previously Koefoot, who started his career at Ford Motor Co., was with PrimeSource Consulting Group where he was a founding partner and vice president of finance. ...

Vendor vestments: At Advanced Technical Solutions Inc. of Wilmington, Mass., C. Bryan Kelley III has joined the ATS sales organization. Kelley, who comes from a family of newspapermen (his grandfather was in newspapers; his father, Cecil Kelley Jr., is an executive with Gannett Co. Inc.), has a long career as a newspaper supplier, with stints at Dewar, Digital Technology and System Integrators, where he was sales director for the ill-fated TeleCo Division. ... At Cybergraphic Systems Ltd. Pty. of Melbourne, Australia, Roger Grammer has been named Asian business development manager, responsible for building an enhanced presence in Southeast Asia. Previously, Grammer (a U.S. citizen) was a consultant with News International Newspapers in London and before that had been one of the first employees of Atex Australasia. ... At Inso Corp. of Boston, Paul Savage has been named vice president, worldwide sales and service. Previously, Savage was vice president of sales and service with Inso's Electronic Publishing Solutions group. Prior to joining Inso in October, 1996, Savage was with Digital Equipment Corp. for more than 17 years. ... At Unisys Corp. of Blue Bell, Pa., Bill Stults has been named project manager. Errors & Omissions: In last issue's story on the Electronic Photojournalism Workshop, we listed the members of the board that would supervise the new Visual Edge conferences that will replace EPW and the Digital conferences; unfortunately, we had the makeup of that board incorrect. According to the Visual Edge draft charter, which has not yet been signed, there will be a five-person board, consisting of the National Press Photographers Association's executive director (Ellen LoCurto), a Digital representative (Steve Rice of the Star Tribune of Minneapolis), an EPW representative (Karl Kuntz of the Columbus Dispatch in Ohio), a Poynter Institute representative (Kenny Irby) and the NPPA president (Dave Lutman, a free-lance photographer from Louisville, Ky.).
